A discreet presence, planned before you arrive
A bodyguard is not just a physical presence beside the client: the role is the result of work that begins before arrival. A specialised protection partner states that it starts from a risk analysis, to understand who you are, where you will be going and which situations call for attention. Close protection, also known as executive protection, is built on that basis: operatives who accompany you with discretion, without turning your day into an arrangement visible to everyone. The result is a tailored service, not a standard package.
In every city the protection follows your schedule. In Milan it may cover your arrival at a luxury hotel in the centre, a morning of shopping in the Quadrilatero between Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga, a dinner in Brera, an appointment in Porta Nuova or CityLife. In Paris it can follow you between Avenue Montaigne, the Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Place Vendôme, in London between Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Belgravia, on the Côte d'Azur between the Croisette in Cannes and Monte Carlo. Every stage is considered in advance: entrances, times, waiting points and routes, so as to reduce improvised moments. The level of discretion is defined together, according to your habits and your profile.
The protection can extend to family and entourage: spouse, children, assistants, collaborators. The scope of the service is defined in the proposal, together with the number of operatives, hours and arrangements. Rial Rent coordinates the luxury car, the driver and the airport welcome, for example at Milan Linate or Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino, Paris Charles de Gaulle or London Heathrow, while the protection remains with the partner. A private escort is not the same as a state escort, which the authorities assign to people exposed to risk. If your schedule changes, Rial Rent receives the change and passes it on to the partner; availability and arrangements in each destination are confirmed case by case.

Who provides the service
The protection activities described on these pages are carried out by a specialised protection partner. The partner states that its team has experience in the armed forces, police forces and special units and in protecting prominent individuals, with training in tactical first aid, and a method based on risk analysis before the service and on encrypted communications.
The roles are distinct. The partner carries out the protection under its own responsibility. Rial Rent, based in Milan, coordinates mobility and logistics: cars, drivers, transfers and airport assistance, in the cities where it delivers its luxury cars. You keep a single point of contact, from your request to the end of the service.
Questions about bodyguards and close protection
Is it legal to have a private bodyguard in Europe?
Yes, in compliance with the law of the country where the service takes place, which varies from state to state. Personal protection is requested as a private service: a specialised protection partner assesses your needs, sets out the terms and conditions in the proposal and carries out the service under its own responsibility. Rial Rent coordinates the mobility side.
Are the bodyguards armed?
Not in the services described here: Rial Rent does not offer or promise armed personnel. The service relies on risk analysis, planning and a discreet presence. The use of weapons is governed by the law of each country and requires specific authorisation from the authorities. If you have particular needs, state them in your request: the partner assesses them case by case, in compliance with the law.
Can I have a police escort?
No, a state escort cannot be bought. In Italy it is assigned by the authorities, through the Ministry of the Interior (UCIS), to people exposed to particular risks; in other European countries it is decided by the national authority. In both cases the decision does not depend on who asks for it. Private close protection is a different service: we arrange it with a specialised protection partner and it does not replace a state escort.
How much does a bodyguard cost in Europe?
The cost is set by quote, because it varies from case to case. It depends on the length of the service, the number of operatives, the risk profile, the destination and the planned movements. After your request you receive a proposal with terms and price, to be confirmed before you commit.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible, especially in the busiest periods: the fashion weeks in Milan and Paris, the Cannes Festival in May, the Monaco Grand Prix between May and June, summer on the Riviera and in Ibiza, winter in the Alps. In Milan in 2027, Milano Moda Uomo runs from 15 to 19 January, Milano Moda Donna from 23 February to 1 March and the Salone del Mobile from 13 to 18 April. Can the protection extend to family and entourage?
Yes. The partner states that it protects high-profile individuals, families and entourages. Tell us in your request who is travelling with you: the scope of the service, the number of operatives and the movements are defined in the proposal, before confirmation.
Can the service follow me to several cities during the same trip?
On request. Give us the stops and dates of your trip: the partner assesses availability and arrangements for each destination, and Rial Rent coordinates cars, drivers and transfers between one stop and the next, remaining your single point of contact. What is feasible is confirmed in the proposal.
