Ferrari 812 Superfast in St. Moritz.
Ferrari 812 Superfast in silver grey: a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 of 800 hp, with a specific output of 123 hp per litre. According to Ferrari, it is a record for a series-production front-mounted engine. The bodywork is a fastback coupé, and the metallic paint brings out the long bonnet housing the twelve-cylinder. Four-wheel steering makes manageable a car that sends 718 Nm to the rear wheels alone, through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The numbers are clear-cut: 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200 in 7.9 and a top speed of 340 km/h. Two seats and a road to be chosen with care. Climbing the Stelvio Pass from Bormio, hairpin after hairpin, the four-wheel steering makes itself felt in every switchback and the V12 booms between the valley walls all the way to the summit.

The drive we recommend
From St. Moritz towards Passo del Bernina: 35 km along the Berninastrasse, through Pontresina and Poschiavo. This is where the Ferrari 812 Superfast is at its best — long bends, good surface and room enough to feel what it can do without having to rush.
When to come
The best window in St. Moritz runs dicembre-marzo e giugno-settembre. Around White Turf and Snow Polo World Cup demand concentrates and cars are gone weeks ahead: if those are your dates, book early.
